Georgia's Official Health Insurance Marketplace: Georgia Access

Georgia Access is Georgia's official state-based health insurance marketplace, where residents shop for, compare, and enroll in ACA coverage with federal premium tax credits.

What is Georgia Access?

Georgia Accessis the state's official health insurance marketplace, run by the Georgia Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire. It went live on November 1, 2024, moving Georgia off the federal HealthCare.gov site that residents had used since 2014. Existing enrollees were migrated automatically, and Georgia Access is now the only place to buy an individual or family ACA plan in Georgia.

Georgia Access is also the first state-based exchange built on a decentralized model. Instead of pushing everyone through a single government portal, Georgia lets you enroll through the state consumer portal, through an Enhanced Direct Enrollment partner, or directly with a Georgia-certified insurance agent. That last option is what most people find easiest: an agent compares plans across all participating carriers and completes the enrollment with you, at no cost to you.

Georgia Access Plan Benefits

  • Federal Premium Tax Credits: The same subsidies available nationwide, applied directly to lower your monthly premium
  • Comprehensive Coverage: All plans cover 10 essential health benefits including preventive care, prescription drugs, and mental health services
  • No Discrimination: Cannot be denied coverage or charged more due to pre-existing conditions
  • Eight Participating Carriers: Anthem, Ambetter, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, CareSource, Kaiser, Oscar, and Alliant, with availability varying by county

How We Help Navigate Georgia Access

  • We Can Enroll You Directly: As Georgia-certified agents we complete your Georgia Access enrollment for you, no state portal account required
  • Subsidy Calculation: We run your household income and size to show exactly what premium tax credit you qualify for before you choose
  • County-Level Plan Comparison: Carrier availability varies sharply between metro Atlanta and rural Georgia. We check what is actually offered in your ZIP code
  • Coverage Gap Check: Georgia has not fully expanded Medicaid, so we verify whether you qualify for a subsidy, Medicaid, PeachCare, or Pathways
  • Enrollment Assistance: Complete, accurate enrollment support from application to approval

Georgia ACA Marketplace FAQs

Common questions Georgia residents ask about Georgia Access, premium tax credits, and enrollment.

Georgia Access is Georgia's state-based health insurance marketplace, run by the Office of Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire. From 2014 through 2024, Georgians shopped for ACA coverage on the federal HealthCare.gov site. Georgia Access went live on November 1, 2024 for 2025 coverage, and existing HealthCare.gov enrollees were migrated over automatically. HealthCare.gov no longer sells plans to Georgia residents, so anyone looking for an individual or family ACA plan in Georgia now enrolls through Georgia Access. The same federal premium tax credits apply.
